A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is beneficial for pregnant women. You can either eat the fruit or drink its juice. All types of fruits, fresh or frozen are nutritious. Greener the vegetables, healthier they are. Leafy vegetables are a good source of iron and you should include these in your pregnancy diet.
Cereals And Grains
A variety of additional food items contain cereals and grains. These are your source of carbohydrates, vitamins, and fibers. You should include grains, breads, cereals, brown rice, and pasta in your diet. They are high on fiber, more filling, and also help to keep over-eating and weight related issues in check.

Folic acid is one of the most important vitamins in a healthy pregnancy diet. It is vital for the overall healthy growth of the body cells during these times. Folic acid is a part of Vitamin B. It is present in the natural form and also as a constituent of manufactured foods. Folic acid protects the baby from neural tube defects. You must therefore take vitamins during pregnancy, particularly folic acid, in the appropriate amount. In fact, you should start taking it in greater quantities even before you plan to get pregnant.
Proteins
In addition to all these food items, you must eat good amount of proteins. Food items like pulses, beans, and nuts provide you the protein necessary during your pregnancy.
Nutrition during pregnancy is a critical issue. Pregnancy oriented foods items are not yet available. You can continue your routine diet. But, ensure that you balance your meals with a variety of food items that contain the elements essential for a healthy pregnancy diet.
