This is due to varied reasons which can be tube infections, earlier surgery inside the abdomen covering fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, blockage of tubes because of pelvic inflammatory disease and use of medicines for fertility increase to conceive.

The common symptoms are vaginal bleeding, dizziness, sweat, shoulder tip pain, lower back pain, low blood pressure and extreme pain. This vaginal bleeding is the result of the rupturing of organs bearing baby due to his growth and it is a serious medical problem which needs immediate attention of the doctor immediately.  This problem is seen in 2 out of 100 pregnancies in India in an year. This pregnancy does not result into a live birth.

It cannot be detected in the early sign of pregnancy as the symptoms closely resemble a normal pregnancy such as missed periods, tenderness in breast, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination. The ultrasound cannot detect the signs of ecotopic pregnancy then the doctor has to do pelvic examination to properly detect it. Doctor has to also do the hCG test which is blood test to know the levels of hormone human chorionic gonadotropin produced by the placenta during pregnancy and is present in the blood and urine after 8 to 10 of conception. Its level rises as the pregnancy progresses, but in ecotopic pregnancy, the levels do not rise as fast as it should.

The early detection with treatment of this pregnancy involves injection of methorexate which inhibits the further growth of embryo. But, if it has progressed to a large scale, surgery is needed to remove, which requires incision at the pelvic region. It can also be removed by laproscopy.

There is a higher risk of this pregnancy in the women above 35 years of age. If the women do smoking and use multiple sexual partners, she is vulnerable to ecotopic pregnancy. Therefore, to give birth to a life, a woman should be careful about her life by using proper protective measures.
