Baby Planning: Are You Worried about Pregnancy Changes?
August 22, 2010 Baby planning, Pregnancy changes No CommentsOnce you decide to have your own little bundle of joy, the first step is baby planning. Planning to have a baby is the most important decision in a woman’s life, which causes pregnancy changes that at times can lead to emotional problems. I will now tell you what these changes are and how to deal with them.
Expanding belly
The first thing a mother notices is a rapidly expanding belly, which is a natural and normal outcome of a growing fetus. There is nothing to worry about and getting back into shape is possible only after childbirth.
Fatigue
Pregnancy takes a toll on a woman’s stamina. Don’t worry about it, relax and take it easy. Your body needs rest to help the fetus grow, and a little rest now could give you the joy of a lifetime.
Backache
The stress on lower back increases, resulting in continuous back pain during pregnancy. This can be avoided by following a well-planned regimen of pre-natal exercises. Consult your doctor before opting for it.
Skin problems
Most women have a maternal glow on their faces during pregnancy, but a few others suffer from blotchy skin, freckles, or pimples. These are temporary problems and disappear once the baby arrives.
Tender breasts
During pregnancy a woman’s breasts become tender and painful. This happens because of the hormonal changes and could cause some discomfort. The only remedy is to opt for soft maternity bras that provide support and reduce discomfort.
Digestive problems
Nausea and vomiting, especially during the morning, are common during pregnancy. This happens because of two hormones that help maintain pregnancy. No drugs are specified for this type of morning sickness, but these symptoms can be relieved by changing the pattern of eating.
Eat at regular intervals and eat small portions of food. If vomiting persists, ask your doctor for some anti-emetic medicines. Digestion problems are normal during pregnancy, so let them not worry you and hinder the joy of being pregnant.
Stretch marks
One problem that pregnant women dread the most is that of stretch marks that are caused by the constant stretching of abdominal skin during pregnancy. These marks are reddish in color and can be permanent if left untreated. Ask your doctor to prescribe some creams or lotions that help reduce these stretch marks. Permanent removal of these marks is possible through laser treatment after delivery.
Pregnancy is the most joyous phase in a woman’s life, but lack of baby planning could hinder this joy. So, understand pregnancy and the accompanying changes. Plan to handle them and ensure a safe and happy delivery.
