Trying Hard Or Simply Curious?
May 31, 2009 Pregnancy Information No CommentsOne of these could be the possible reason for wanting to find out about the earliest possible signs of pregnancy. When does the nine month long pregnancy period start, so that one can reasonably know about its termination, that is, the approximate delivery date to be able to prepare accordingly? Technically speaking, pregnancy starts with conception and that happens somewhere midway of the menstrual cycle. But how and how soon does that reflect as clear indications of pregnancy is a valid question. The answer lies in detecting symptoms that we all know may be conclusive or elusive as nothing is definite and clear cut. Over all, there are certain guidelines that help detecting a pregnancy.
Once conception has successfully occurred certain changes take place in the body in order to prepare for the massive task. The external signs may or may not manifest. Not all signs show up and also vary in frequency and intensity. However, within two weeks of conception, a woman may experience some of these signs of pregnancy: morning sickness and nausea, fatigue and dizziness sometimes leading to faintness, constipation, heartburn and gas, tender swollen and painful breasts, increased frequency of urination, aversion to certain food smells, etc. Mood swings and irritability, feelings of fatigue, lethargy and weakness are on the higher side.
But there is one pregnancy symptom that is universally present, that too very early, that is around two weeks of conception, which is the earliest, when a pregnancy symptom can occur. This sign is that of a missed period. Mostly, that is the alarm that sets the woman thinking and looking carefully for more signs. That coupled with a woman’s sixth sense, in other words, intuition, constitute early pregnancy symptoms. However, to be conclusive and absolutely sure, one should let time pass till other symptoms manifest or else meet the doctor for having a pregnancy test conducted.
