Headaches

What can I say; but migraines are here to stay! Ok, no more poetry. What I mean is that there are two things that will happen: if you get migraines before pregnancy, it is likely that your symptom will either improve, or worsen during pregnancy.

How do you recognize a migraine? A migraine headache starts with a typical dull pain and worsens until you feel a pulsating pain on either side of your head or temples. Often, you may feel nausea or vomiting; even an aura in some cases. What's an aura? At times you see spots or colored lights in front of your eyes. Some women are found to experience blind spots or problems in their vision. You may also become sensitive to lights or sounds. A dark, silent room is what you need at this time.

Why do migraines happen? When the blood vessels in your brain enlarge to a great extent, it results in pain. Increase in hormone levels is also responsible for this symptom.

Normally, migraines are not a thing to worry, but if they persist for many days or occur too frequently, then they need attention. Also, migraines accompanied with disturbances in vision require medical help.

Oops, I forgot to tell you! There are certain triggers of migraine. So, watch out for them.
