Early Signs of Pregnancy – Am I Or Am I Not Pregnant

There are certain early signs of pregnancy that may indicate at conception. Pregnancy symptoms are actually the changes that you start experiencing physically or emotionally, once you are pregnant. You must understand the changes vary from one woman to another. For example, even morning sickness that is considered as a very common phenomenon may not strike some expecting women at all.

Here’s what you can experience within a couple of weeks after conception.

Have You Missed A Period?

Missing your monthly cycle may be because of several other reasons. But if it happens at a time when you are making efforts to conceive, it can be the strongest indicator that you have been successful in your efforts. Still this is only a hint.

In order to understand the situation better, you should look for more information about the other early signs of pregnancy. You will probably not feel any of these following changes until the time you observe a missed period. In some cases, instead of completely missing a monthly cycle, you may have a much lighter period as compared to the usual flow.

Intuition

Some women simply have an instinct that they might be pregnant. This intuition is also often based on certain physical and emotional changes that they experience, such as regular trips to the lavatory, constipation, heartburn, overly sensitive breasts, stiffness in lower back, lightheaded, queasiness, change in mood and taste, and fatigue.

Tender, Swollen, Sore Breasts

Breasts are naturally sensitive and become far more so during these special nine months. You may have noticed certain changes in your breasts, such as tenderness and soreness. Besides these, you may also notice your nipples darkening in color and becoming extra sensitive or sore. All this happens because the body is making preparations for breastfeeding.

More Frequent Trips To The Restroom

More frequent urination than usual can also be one of the early signs of pregnancy. If you are urinating quite often, you have probably conceived. That’s because after conception, the uterus starts swelling, resulting in an increased pressure on the bladder. This is one of the most annoying symptoms and it remains so for the entire duration of nine months. The intensity may vary from one trimester to another.

Heightened Sensitivity To Aromas

Pregnant women also develop a heightened sensitivity to certain aromas. Smelling certain odors or aromas can make you gag. These could be the smell of cigarette smoke, perfumes, household cleaners, smell of a gas station, of fresh mowed grass, and of various foods. This happens mainly because of the increased production of the estrogen in your body.

There can be several other early signs of pregnancy. If you have started experiencing any or all of the above changes, it is time to go for a home pregnancy test to confirm or negate your pregnancy.
