• Seven pairs of baby socks.

• If the weather is on the nippy side, get a cold weather sleeper too.

Food

Even though junior might feed many times in a day, the menu’s going to be pretty limited at first! Here are some feeding things you should have on hand.

• Ten burp cloths.

• If you’re breastfeeding, get a good breastfeeding pillow.

• If you’re bottle feeding, make sure you have about eight bottles in stock.

Diapers

This is what you’ll really need to plan for during your final pregnant week. Brace yourself because your tiny one will be going through diapers like there’s no tomorrow! Here’s what you’ll need.

• If you’re going the cloth diaper way, get enough to keep you going for about two days. If you’re going the disposables way, two packs should get you through the first few weeks. Newborns go through about ten diapers a day, so plan accordingly.

• Five baby washcloths.

• Stock up on baby wipes- get either 10 cloth ones or a pack of disposable ones.

• A waterproof pad for diaper-changing.

Extra Gear

Apart from food, diapers and clothing, there are some other essentials you’ll need.

• A digital thermometer.

• Baby nail-clippers.

• One bottle of mild baby wash.

• Two hooded towels, though adult towels will work fine too.
